N EW DELHI: It seems that Samsung is going to bring innovative technologies in its next flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S10. The display development and manufacturing division of Samsung is reportedly working on displays that emit sound, which the company is planning to bring in 2019. This technology will allow the smartphones with these displays to ditch the earpiece and will result in slimmer bezels and more screen space. It is expected that the company might introduce this technology in its flagship smartphone Galaxy S10.

The current flagship smartphone of the company the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ come with the Infinity Edge display with 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The devices have narrow bezels but the top and bottom houses the earperice, sensor and selfie camera. But with the sound -emitting display, the earpiece will be gone and the company would be able to offer larger display.

With this technology the screen of the smartphone will let the users to hear. Users just need to place the phone against their ear and use it normally like any other device. However, it is still unknown that whether these displays will emit sound loudly or normally. Apart from earpiece, the company also have to work on including the front camera and the sensors.

Samsung display the tech at SID Expo
The company demonstrated this technology for the first time at SID (Society of Information Displays) Expo last month. The company also demonstrated a prototype of this tech. It is expected that the company might bring the sound-emitting display by early next year.

Last month it was also reported that Samsung might bring the in-display fingerprint sensor technology in the Galaxy S10 smartphone.
