IRCTC's New Website : Check What's New


Here's how the new site looks!

India's largest e-commerce website IRCTC, the online portal of Indian Railways, has got an all-new look. The new interface is aimed at making it easier and faster for passengers to book tickets. The new website is in beta right now and the final roll-out will happen in the next few days.

Presently, on opening the IRCTC website, users see the old page with a red icon named ‘Try New Version of Website’. A click on it redirects users to the beta version of the new website. The trial version will last for 15 days and Indian Railways has asked users for suggestions and feedback to further improve the website. Here are 12 new features of the brand new IRCTC website.




1. Check Seats Without Login

With the new interface of e-ticketing website, user can now enquire or search trains and check availability of seats without login also, thereby saving precious time of the users.

2. Change Font Size

The new website also allows users to change font size throughout the website for comfortable viewing experience.

3. Will enable easy and better planning


The new look and feel will have enhanced class-wise, train-wise, destination-wise, departure/arrival time wise and quota-wise filters for facilitating customer while planning their journeys.

4. New Dashboard


Single screen information about the train including the train number, train name, originating and destination station and distances between them, arrival and departure time and journey time has now been arranged.

5. New Filters 

There are new filters on ‘My Transactions’ where users can also view their booked tickets based on Journey Date, Booking Date, Upcoming Journey and completed journey.

6. Waitlist Prediction


There is a new ‘Waitlist prediction’ feature through which users can get the probability of a Waitlisted or RAC ticket getting confirmed.



7. New Algorithm

The website uses a new algorithm to predict train bookings and hints users accordingly on the availability. This algorithm is based on historical booking trends of the particular train.
